Throwaway Maintenance
Maintenance definition:
Throwaway maintenance, also known as run-to-failure maintenance, refers to a strategy where equipment is used until it fails and is then replaced rather than repaired. This approach may be used for non-critical, low-cost items where the cost of preventive maintenance exceeds the cost of replacement. While it reduces upfront maintenance efforts, it can lead to higher long-term costs and increased downtime.
