Run to Failure Maintenance (RTF) is a maintenance strategy where equipment is deliberately allowed to operate until it fails, at which point reactive maintenance is performed. This approach may be used for non-critical assets where the cost of failure is low compared to the cost of performing regular maintenance. RTF requires careful management to ensure that failures do not impact safety or critical operations.
