Mean Time to Repair (MTTR)
Maintenance definition:
MTTR is a key performance indicator in maintenance that measures the average time taken to repair a failed component or system and return it to operational status. It includes the time taken to diagnose the problem, prepare for the repair (including sourcing parts), the actual repair time, and post-repair testing. A shorter MTTR helps reduce downtime, improving equipment availability and operational efficiency.
