Shewhart Cycle
Maintenance definition:
Also known as the PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act) cycle, the Shewhart Cycle is a four-step model for carrying out change. Just as a circle has no end, the PDCA cycle should be repeated again and again for continuous improvement. It involves planning a change aimed at improvement, implementing the change, checking if the change is achieving the desired results, and acting based on the feedback to either standardize the change or begin the cycle again for further improvement.
