The EmergencyWatch portion of AssetWatch helps you with everyday issues, emergencies and opportunities by giving you an instant access to your critical data such as medical records, wallet content, and password tracking.

What does AssetWatch offer that I don't already get from my insurance agent?

With AssetWatch, you have evidence of all your belongings and an estimate of their value. This documentation allows you to both purchase an appropriate level of insurance (based upon your complete asset value) and fill out your insurance claim forms quickly and accurately in the event of loss. In addition, the archive will remind you and prove to your insurance company the extent of your loss. Many insurance companies require such documentation in order to repay lost property. Without a comprehensive archive, it is unlikely you will receive an adequate insurance settlement.

Will AssetWatch help me through the settlement process in the event of loss?

Yes, unlike other archiving services, we offer both a comprehensive archive AND additional member support in the event of loss. We will review your insurance loss settlement offer and advise you regarding its fairness based upon the loss you incurred and our own impartial schedules of asset depreciation and replacement values.

How does AssetWatch assist me in estate planning?

Your personal inventory includes an entry next to each item where you can designate a beneficiary. This information serves as an addendum to your will and is respected during the probate proceedings or trust administration.

How hard is it to create the archive?

All you need is a digital camera. Our proprietary process leads you through the efficient creation of a complete residence inventory by room and item. Our system provides you forms that includes over 1,000 makes and models of common household items to help ensure that your archive is comprehensive. Our software has been designed for ease of use and to save you time, so uploading your photos and receipts to your personal archive is simple and customizable.

What if I buy new things or upgrade my home?

AssetWatch gives you complete access to your archive so you can update your account whenever you want. We recommend periodic updates and annual review of the content. Our system automatically places a date-stamp on each entry so that you have independent third-party verification of when each acquisition was added.

What personal information does AssetWatch need?

AssetWatch only requires your first name, date of birth and zip code. This information is encrypted in our database and is only required for the purpose of identification and password recovery.

Who has access to my account?

No one has access to your account. We are committed to your security and privacy. You are protected by encryption and dual passwords to ensure your account is accessible only to you. Even our employees don’t have access to your data, see Privacy and Security. Your supporting information, name, date of birth, and zip code, are not linked to your account, and will not be shared with anyone without your permission or as required by law.

Where is my information stored?

Your information is encrypted and stored in a remote data center that provides bank level security. The data is backed up continuously.

Am I at risk for identity theft by storing my information with AssetWatch?

No as long as you protect your password, your information is not at risk.

What does it mean to encrypt information?

Encryption is the scrambling of information for transmission between two points. A key is required to decode the information. Encryption comes in two strengths, standard encryption using 40-56-bit and highest or 128-bit encryption. High or 128-bit encryption means there are septillion possible keys that could fit into the lock that holds your account information, but only one that works. AssetWatch uses the highest, 128-bit level of encryption to ensure your online transactions are secure.

How do I provide the information to my insurance company?

You can run reports at any time and either email or print a report to share with your insurance company. If you prefer, our member services associates can help with your reporting needs.

What other services do you provide to your members?

We offer EmergencyWatch with MedicalWatch, WalletWatch and PasswordWatch to help you document and access your vital information in case of an emergency and or everyday use in case you forgot, lost, or were a victim of theft or a natural disaster.

What security technology do you use?

AssetWatch uses a combination of security technologies to protect your data including 128-bit SSL encryption and storage in a remote facility protected by 24/7 security guards. Our security practices have received the security seal from three independent sources, VeriSign, McAfee, and TRUSTe, and are tested daily by third party security specialists.
